2005 Model Engineering
Show
On October 29, 2005 I attended the Sixth Annual Model Engineering Show in conjunction with the American Precision Museum in Windsor, Vermont. I was invited to exhibit some of my models and talk about building models for a living. I think I provided a link between the crazy machinists there and the average modeller or car enthusiast who may have come to the show out of curiosity. I felt a little out of place amongst all the precision steam engine models; the room was plumbed to run them all on compressed air so burning fuel for the boilers wasn't required. But then they were amazed that I actually got paid to build mine. The sight and sound of most of the engines running all day was amazing. Click the photos to enlarge. The Quicktime video links will open small movies of the engines pictured. - - |
